Dreams and Boys

Dumb girls go out looking for their boys. Smart girls go out looking for their dreams. That's why smart girls got married with their dreams, and live alone; and dumb girls married their boys, and don't have to dream of children.

Yes

"Yes" is an action word.

Relationships & True Value

Social relationships are bidding situations. The value ascribed to you is always based on perception. You may have lost or gained at one time or another in the eyes of others. That has always nothing to do with who you are or how important you are in God's eyes.

Love and Forgiveness

We are most loved when we were the hardest to forgive, and still forgiven.

Friendship & Politics

When politics enters friendship, friendship ceases to be a relationship, and degenerates into a power struggle that no one wins, not even the friendship.

Aggression

When you show aggression to others, make sure you are the most aggressive person there is. Otherwise, there will always be better than you are even in aggression. And there will come a time when you will be on the receiving end of something that will overwhelm you.

Anger

There is a point when anger ceases to be an act of love if ever it has started as one. Good feelings nourish love. Negative emotions like anger strangle it.

Public Service

Only when the people truly seek for your services in official and public offices, and without you giving them money to pay for that support, that spending your time and energy to serve them become worthwhile. Their money contributed to support your candidacy is the strongest sign of their support for your response to their call for your services.

Minimization

It is easy to minimize the activities of the Devil even if evil hounds the world each moment of each day.

Love and Ministry

Those who love you unconditionally build up your store of graces and genuine love. Those who use you to their selfish ends siphon your energy to love unconditionally. The former are your true family; the latter are the people to reach out for your ministry.

Self-Examination

Sometimes we lost what we value the most, or what we had been looking for, because we failed to look closely into ourselves.

Cleanliness

Do not be ashamed of cleaning your own toilet bowl. It shows that when things turn to worst, you would not be pooing all around.

Love and God

If ever you will miss finding God in yourself, look around you. You will see how much God showers them with unconditional love.

Poor

The poor exist to give you the genuine chance to be truly generous.

Charity

Charity is about giving a part of what you work for to those who need the most. It is not about demanding that everyone must eat only what resulted from their work.

Limitation

Sometimes our limits are what we put on ourselves.

Mistakes

When we make mistakes, our first option is to look for ways to rationalize it to soften the brunt of responsibility to such an error. If we give in to this natural and worldly impulse at hiding in the darkness of mental somersaults, we will end up no longer seeing that what we tried to see as right is actually wrong. And our souls just plunge itself into its self-imposed darkness.

Age and Wisdom

Age never guarantees wisdom. Many old people moved to the grave still as foolish as they can be.

Sound & Language

The beauty of the music of a language you do not understand cannot surpass the sound of the language you do.

Caring

To care for someone makes sense only when that someone knows about it. Let it be know so that wonderful things happen to your life and the others.

Life & Murder

Only those who hate life can ever think of ending it, no matter what the rationalizations maybe.

Curiosity

Many times curiosity is better left to the cat.

Third Sex

If third sex is born, then a gay must have been delivered with a vagina and a tee with a penis. And no trans operation becomes necessary.

Clarity & Proximity

The water is clearer near the sea, not at the top of the mountain.

Authority

Authority unquestioned is either authority fully respected or authority fully feared.

Dress

Getting dressed is fastest when you sleep in your working clothes.

Letting Go

The painful burden of letting go weighs lighter than the torment of watching your loved one deteriorates before your very eyes, and not able to do something about it. Love is not measured in how much you keep but in how much you let go in the name of that love.

Wounds

Our wounds are the proofs that we are alive.

Prayer and Relevance

Prayer is only relevant to our search for God's designs for us and the world. Other than that, prayer is by nature irrelevant. It is not relevant in terms of our social or personal goals. God simply cannot be manipulated to follow our own designs for Him.

Perception & Reality

Our perception is our reality. If we perceive that the food and water before us is reeking with unseen fecal dirt, we will not eat the food or drink the water. Our perception though does not dictate the truth; neither our reality does. Truth is because it is.

Timing

Most of the time, things work out very well just because you are in the right place, at the right time.

Believing

Thank you, Lord, for going beyond my ability to believe.

Symbol

If God had been a symbol, we are nothing but alphanumeric characters having the grandest illusion of possessing life.

Knowing God

The reason why it can be very difficult to know God personally is our own reluctance, in fact even resistance, to know ourselves honestly for who we frankly are.

Way

The surest way to a lasting peace of mind, of heart, and of soul is to let the Lord lead the way, and simply follow Him wherever He leads you.

Future

The future that you do not know is much better than the worst of the past that you knew.

Language

The more I learn to understand deeply my own language, the more I appreciate the history from which it rose, and the indebtedness I owe from those people who, at the time, became instruments in the existence, or more exactly the evolution, of my language into what it is today. I am talking about Bisaya language, which owe so much from the Spanish language.

Truth & Justice

Many times the system that supposed to get to the truth of things and to administer justice withholds instead the truth and in so doing fails to bring justice where and when it should.

Facing the Wind

Encountering oppositions and criticisms can mean that we have at last taken a stand worthy of our gifts. But what we need to be careful about in facing the strong winds in our lives is the temptation to forget that we stood strong and tall against the elements not on our own strength but through the grace of God that works in us. Forgetting this truth will make the triumph against the wind as meaningless as our fall before it. For either way does not make us closer to the God who loves us endlessly.

Love & Temptation

When love becomes a temptation, responding to that love becomes a sin. Love becomes a fleeting romantic emotion, desperately hoping to last long. And the culprit is a perverted perception that leads to an erroneous understanding of love .

Music

Music can be a prayer that rises from the heart filled with love, and joins with that Everlasting Love, the very Source of such a human love that leaps from the heart like a small child filled with the joy of seeing her beloved Father for the first time in her life.

Pure Love

A heart that loves purely, when corrupted by selfishness and perversion, will find it difficult, even almost impossible, to recapture that pure love. The heart needs to go through that moment of letting go, the pain of fiery grace, a conversion of soul, before it can be restored to that state where it is ready to love purely again.

Guilty

To the guilty, any trial that convicts is always a mistrial.

Inflexibility

It is not the hounding pressure that causes an inflexible thing to break. It is the inflexibility that does it. Flexible things simple bend against the wind, and survive the storm.

Diversity

The great thing about diversity is, you can get surprised by people almost all the time. At times, getting shock is the word for it.

Truth and Life

Our lives mean something of value only when we stand for the truth. If others would refuse, and even bend over back to withhold, the truth, just enjoy the better part of the difference that you have with you.

Irony

One great irony of faith, especially among those who profess themselves as Christians, is the human inability to legislate the existence of God.

Truth

A person who refuses to hear and see the truth has no choice but to lie.

Truth

Each time we hide ourselves from the truth, a part of us hides itself before God in a futile attempt that we can.
