Words

Each word we speak or write, when communicated with love, becomes an invisible hand of God that consoles those who grieve, gives hope to those who despair, and reenvigorates those who have walked in the valley of death.

Love and Measures

In love there is no middle state. Either you love or you do not. Loving a little simply means not loving so much. Thank God our nature is so imperfect we can only love imperfectly, even the best of our love. And the Father knows this perfectly enough. So the Perfect Lover looks at the imperfect ones with so much compassion and burning love.

Call to Solitude

When the call to solitude Rages in silence, As the spark of love Burst into joyful flames, O Lord! In Your presence There is no other place That I'd rather be Each day, each moment... Even as my hands Move in mundane chores, My feet walk In mortal routes. Your love envelops me And in Your love consumed.

Siblinghood

Despite our differences, even if irreconcilable, our clashing self-interests and hatred of each other as people, we are distant siblings of the same parents. Even though many no longer remember that they are our brothers and sisters and we are theirs, being so will never cease to be. The most important mission a sibling can take on in his or her life is to look for those brothers and sisters lost in time, and bring them back home.

Forgiveness and Love

We deserve to be forgiven only as much as we have forgiven. But God's love makes it possible to receive forgiveness even when we don't deserve it.

Love

Unlike the perfect and ever-giving love of God, human love is imperfect at best. Human love cannot give all the time; it also thinks of what it can get. It is the nature of mankind to need things for themselves, thus they need to get. The best that human love can attain is to give more than it prefers to receive. And this giving and taking go beyond those things that can be counted. It includes small things that are very valuable to the other. When human love fails, it is because the man or woman has sought to get or not give more than it gives or receives, respectively. And it is one more story in the tragic history of failed loves. But there is another way to turn the situation for the better. The person must go back to the love of God. There he or she will be nourished back, and learn to love again the way God loves even in his or her most imperfect ways.
