Intelligence

Many times our intelligence turns into a wall of self-rightousness that separates us from Christ. Having erected the wall ourselves, we cease to notice that we have drifted away from the very source of that intelligence. With our sight obstructed we will not even notice that what used to be a wonderful gift of the mind had become the booze of the fool.

Light

In the finite world, darkness makes light shine brighter. The darker the darkness is, the brighter light becomes. But in the infinite, Light can exist, has existed for sometime, without darkness. And Light is as blindingly bright as always.

Concern

Our highest concern is not our concern, but of Him who can satisfy it. It never was, nor have we the power to solve it.

Abortion

Abortion has two faces--one recognized by many; another remained hidden beyond the purview of most. The first face of abortion is the one that kills life anytime from the implantation of the fertilized egg (zygote) to the moment before a child is born. The other face is the one that stops nature from giving life to a child. This happens from the moment the male seeds enter the female body and before it unites with the female egg, during which life sparks into the child. Either way abortion deprives, and violates, the childs right to life that nature guarantees to give.

Sight and Faith

The blind believes more than those who can see.

Love and Truth

Love without truth is a deception. Truth without love is a lie. True love is only so when based on truth. Truth becomes real when infused with love.

Doing and Understanding

Once we do more than we understand, we understand more than what we do.

Law and God

Once lawmakers believe that human laws have no concern on what God has to say, we will find godless laws, written by godless men and women.

Brothers' Keeper

In the deepest of things, we are our brothers' keepers. Only the converts of Cain believe otherwise.

Trust

Our difficulty in completely trusting God, and following His Will, stems from our own human brokenness. The wounds of our existence have hardened our hearts and the full trust of a child have long left our lives. And only God can make us whole again, slowly, bit by bit, each day, each moment. Our only job is to cooperate.

Discipline

Discipline is like waking up at five each morning when your body got used to turning up from bed at nine, and learning to love it.

Rights

The zenith of deception becomes apparent when the right to choose supercedes the right to live.

Prayer

Without prayer, life can only be about following your will instead of following God's will.

Example

Doing good is both about following Christ and leading others to follow Christ through your example. People easily follow those they can see. And the authenticity of your example determines how much of Christ came across for others to follow. This is a task that entails a huge responsibility.

Love and Measures

In love there is no middle state. Either you love or you do not. Loving a little simply means not loving so much. Thank God our nature is so imperfect we can only love imperfectly, even the best of our love. And the Father knows this perfectly enough. So the Perfect Lover looks at the imperfect ones with so much compassion and burning love.

Good Life

A truly good life is lived in humility that springs from wisdom.

Roads

There are roads in life wherein, once you take it, there will be no turning back. All you can do is brave the surprises along the way.

Divine Mercy

Our sins pale before the great mercy of God.
