Faith, Confession and Surrender

The easiest thing about faith is confessing it before adoring fans that you believe. The most difficult part is the total giving of your life and future to the will of God, fully surrendering to it wherever it may take you whether or not you may have chosen that road or destiny should you had your will followed.

Corruption

Even those who fought tooth and nail against corruption must fight harder against getting infected with it through the seduction of power.

Freedom and Bondage

Most people believe that once people gain their freedom from oppressors, they became free. History shows that's not necessarily true. Our oppressors are not outside us but within us--pride, fear, covetousness... These sinful vices keep people in bondage using chains that no amount of uprising can break.

History

By looking at how far you've gone, you will discover that life is not that bad after all.

Change

Change is terrifying--and necessary. And yet, it must be accomplished despite the terror it brandishes.

Loneliness

Loneliness is only a pang At the visitations of the dame of charm. An excerpt from my new poem, Loneliness Is An Ordinary Breath.

Marriage and Friendship

As youth leaves the body, and sex disappears, all that is left is that special kind of friendship that spends one's life in loving service of the other, one lifetime spending the rest of it with another.

Living and Dying

Many people live like they will live forever. Many people die like they have not lived at all.

Saint Valentine's Day 2011

From life's sorrows and despair, only love can rescue us. Happy Valentine's Day! May love so overrule today that no sorrow or despair can even touch your heart.

Freedom and Democracy

Freedom, democracy... these are only beginnings of an arduous work that spells L-I-F-E-T-I-M-E.

Cycles

In a life of ups and downs, it is the ups that count. The downs nevertheless provide a solid footing that allows you to kick yourself back up to the crest.

Hope

Those who have trust have hope. Only the faithless are incurably hopeless.

Honesty and Responsibility

The burden of honesty and responsibility is extremely heavy, especially to those who followed the opposite path. At times, even death pales in comparison. But those who braved the pain follow the right path shines forth as people of great courage. (Photo courtesy of Jim Sabo Fine Arts )

Theories and Rhetorics

The greatest challenge to theories is application. The strongest test to rhetorics is action.

Judgmentalism

People only see what their eyes can see, and  understand things from what they guess things mean. Only God knows what is in the heart of man.

Blindness

Blindness is incurable in those who refuse to see.

Freedom and Youth

Too much freedom among the youth today is a very dangerous thing, even to those with good dispositions. To the conceited and foolish ones, it is a disaster waiting to happen.

Expectations

Foolish and unreasonable expectations do more damage than good to both the person expecting and to the one expected as well as the relationship between both. If you have full trust on someone, you don't need to expect. Simply trust and let the trusted be.

Children and Happiness

Children need only a single word such as "baby," and a peculiar way of saying it themselves, to laugh aloud in the next 10-15 minutes, or until another source of happiness catches their attention. They simply repeat the word in that unique way of saying it, again and again, milking it with all the joy they can get from it. They have the simplest need to make themselves happy, and are very efficient in enjoying that source of joy. Things that adults have learned to forget to their sad misfortune.
